Jorvik Viking Festival
This year the Jorvik viking festival which is held in the city of York celebrates it's 23rd year. Jorvik is a coming together of Vikings from all over the world, sharing there heritage, arts, music, drama and action. There are different themes each day, the festival is on for five days starting on Wednesday 13th February finishing on Sunday 17th. There is a viking market with tenth century traders in the festival marquee which will be at St Sampsons Square.
In the Barley Hall you can join the Vikings in a historic setting as they demonstrate Viking life skills, weaponry and cooking.
Later on in the day there is a huge battle, not to be missed, it is a really brilliant day out, we go every year.
